Roger Wolff was woken bright and early this morning by a telephone call asking where the target lists for this weekend’s shoot could be found.
Having quickly overcome the fear that he’d fallen victim to a Rip van Winkle moment, Roger explained that 15th March – the date of the SCAS Indoor and Sussex Indoor Championships at the K2 Crawley – will arrive in timely fashion next month.
15th February falls on this weekend, four weeks before the Indoor Championships.
And that’s no fooling because April is the month after the Indoor Championships.
Spare Roger (who’ll need a lot of sleep between now and the shoot as he’s responsible for setting up the venue) another early alarm call by tying a knot in your quiver belt and marking the date in your diary: Sunday 15th March at the K2 Crawley.
Note: the SCAS Indoor is now full and a waiting list is in operation (and that’s up to 15 already) but there are still eight places left in the Sussex Team Championships and 25 in the Sussex Individual Championships. Download your entry form by clicking here or call Roger Wolff on… or maybe don’t.
University of Surrey Stag Hill Archers are holding their 8th Outdoor Tournament at Guildford AC’s field on Saturday 2nd May. Seniors will be shooting an Albion round, while juniors can enter one of three Windsor rounds depending on their age.
The soup shoot at Sedlescombe is an established fixture in the Sussex archery calendar. This year’s competition will take place on Sunday 19th April at the Sports Field in Sedlescombe.
Shooting an American round is a nice way to start the outdoor season and there is always a good turnout for this event. Entry forms can be obtained by contacting Kevin Doswell on 07976 306059.
Not many people know this but Sussex has the current National Recurve Clout Team Champions among its ranks, namely Arundown AC.
They and anyone else interested can find information on five tassel award shoots during August, September and October this year on the Grand Western Archery Society website.
Nine places remain available in the Sussex Indoor Team Championships, which will take place at the K2 Crawley on Sunday 15th March, 2009.
