Juniors may shoot the senior distances and participate as seniors.
First-timers please note: As usual for Clout shoots, participants must have had instruction in Clout Shooting beforehand, and this must be taken to mean Practical Instruction including shooting at the Clout distances. This is particularly important for Compound bows – don’t be mislead by the diagrams in the GNAS rule-book, the ‘high trajectory’ is disallowed for all except longbows, but it simply isn’t a practical option anyway. Inexperienced compound archers expect quite naturally to have to poke the bow up a bit to get the distance, but in reality the angle is about the same most recurve archers use at 100 yards, so it seems not much different from Target Archery.
The Arundown Club in Littlehampton will be holding an open practice afternoon on Saturday 15th May (or if the weather is truly diabolical it can be re-scheduled to the following week).
