SCAA & SCAS Affiliation Fees
Thursday, July 22nd, 2010To all Club Secretaries.
Re: Affiliations 2010 – 2011
If you are not involved with submitting affiliations/fees for your club, please pass this on to whoever is – thank you.
As you are no doubt aware the way the affiliation fees for 2010-2011 are to be paid has been changed, and clubs will be sending GNAS fees directly to GNAS. All other fees are to be collected by the county concerned.
This means that the SCAA and SCAS fees have to be collected by SCAA, and you will find attached the form that is to be used.
SCAA Subs Form 2010_2011 V8.10
I hope you will find that it is very clear, as we have tried to make it as simple as possible. Both SCAA and SCAS fees should be sent to me.
Thank you, and Best wishes
Doreen Cannon
Secretary SCAA

Sussex Archery Rankings update, mid-July 2010
Monday, July 19th, 2010Following the County Championships weekend on 10th and 11th July, the Sussex archery rankings have been updated. The current rankings table can be downloaded by clicking here.
Recurve rankings
There have been some notable changes in recent weeks. In the Ladies Recurve, Diane Billenness of Eastbourne Archers has regained the top spot from Stella Wilson (Bayeaux Bowmen) and now heads the table by 30 points, while Adele McPeake of Hellingly AC has entered the rankings for the first time in third place.
In the Gents Recurve table, Adele’s club mate Gavin Sutherland also appears for the first time in second place, just 19 points behind Mykola Prysnyak of Bognor Regis AC.
Two members of Worthing AC head the Junior Recurve tables.
Bryony Pitman remains in first place in the Junior Ladies Recurve table by over 500 points from Hayley Foord (Newhaven AC). Ditchling’s Abigail Goacher enters the rankings for the first time in third place.
And following some outstanding scores at the Junior National Outdoor and County Championships this month, Will Martin has consolidated his position at the top of the Junior Gents Recurve rankings. Thomas Hooper (Bognor Regis AC) remains in second place, while Tom Winkworth (Bayeaux Bowmen) moves into third and Darren Galley (Crawley AC) appears for the first time in seventh place.
Compound rankings
Although currently recuperating from a stay in hospital, Vanessa Devenish (Ditchling AC) maintains her first place in the Ladies Compound table. But it’s all change in the next three positions with Hannah Temple (Ditchling AC) moving into second place and Linda Palmer of Bognor Regis AC squeezing into third place by the tiny margin of three points ahead of Julie Pede (Chichester Bowmen).
The Gents Compound sees Steve Allen stay in first place, with Gary Kinghorn (Worthing AC) just 20 points behind in second. Chris Keate (Hellingly AC) enters the rankings for the first time in fifth place. The Gents Compound tops the activity league with 13 entries.
The Junior Ladies Compound table is disappointingly bereft of scores, but the Junior Gents table remains highly competitive with Ditchling’s Pip Tucknott moving into first place ahead of Jamie Cole (West Sussex Youth Archers). High Weald’s Peter Moore requires just one more score that could see him achieve a top three ranking.
Recurve Barebow rankings
Wendy Sinclair (Worthing AC) has retained her position at the top of the Ladies Barebow rankings, while Vivienne Foord and Rebecca Davis of Newhaven AC remain in first and second place in the Junior Ladies Barebow.
Newhaven archers also feature in the Gents Barebow tables. After successfully defending his County title, Phil Reay has moved into first place among the seniors. Paul Skippins (Worthing AC) and John Humphrey (Ditchling AC) remain second and third respectively.
Dominic Bodle and Josh Scudder maintain their positions at the top of the Junior Gents Barebow table. Following a recent switch from compound, Troy Mallyon (Eastbourne Archers) put in two good scores at the County Championships and seems certain to provide the top two with some healthy competition soon.
Longbow rankings
There has been little activity to report in the longbow category, with the exception of Chris Ellis of High Weald’s recent run of scores that have taken him to the top of the Gents Longbow table.
Submitting your scores
With an extended fixture list planned for next season, the Sussex archery rankings are assuming increasing importance for everyone who wishes to shoot for the County team. For more information on how to submit your scores, see the Sussex Archery Rankings page.
