Chairman’s
Digest, June 2011.
A meeting of the County committee took place on
6th June. I shall attempt to give you a few notes on the salient
points of interest prior to the publication of the full minutes.
County
Match
We have our second County Match of the year on
26th June. This time against Essex. It will be held at our home
ground of Hazelwick School in Crawley. I wish good shooting to all those taking
part.
County
Championships
Two weeks later on 9/10th July we
have the County Championship Weekend. The not inconsiderable organisation for
the county’s major event is now well in hand. Please get your entry application
in as soon as possible if you haven’t done it already. All the details are on
the SCAA website www.sussex-archery.org.uk
Please note the change of venue from that shown in the Archery UK magazine. We
shall be at Hazelwick School, Crawley. I know that this will be a great
weekend. Good luck to all those involved.
Donation
I am very pleased to announce that the
association has received a very generous donation of £2500 from Towncross
Engineering of Bognor Regis. This has been used to assist in the purchase of
two shipping containers for the storage of the county’s equipment. Thank you so
much Towncross.
Home
Grounds
We have entered into an agreement with Hazelwick
School to site the containers on their grounds and to use the playing fields
for our matches & tournaments. This is with the kind permission and
cooperation of Crawley Archery Club.
County
Website
A great deal of work has been put into updating
the content of the county website. This includes the records, rankings,
contacts & other background items. The homepage has an extended list of
items, so don’t forget to scroll down to check out all the latest
information. If the item that you are
looking for is not on that list, then you can look for it under the main tabs
at the top of the page or the list of categories under Sussex Archery on the
right hand side. Happy browsing.
Terry Maskell.
