JANUARY JNR LEAGUE SCORES – go to>> Junior Winter Leagues Page
DECEMBER RECORDS UPDATES – go to>> County Records Page

The County AGM was held on Sunday 29th January. There were some changes to the committee. We say a fond farewell to Dave Egalton (CCO), Terry White (Junior Team Manager), Maggie Burford (Junior Rep & Tournament Organiser) and Sy Grinham (Equipment Coordinator). I wish to thank them for their unstinting hard work over the past year. They have been a very valuable asset to the County. We now welcome Daniel Bridge as our appointed County Coaching Organiser and wish him every success with his plans for 2012. This will commence with a Level One coaching course starting on 5th May. If you are interested in this course, there are a few places left as I write.
There were no nominees for the vacant positions prior to the AGM, but I am pleased to announce that the following were co-opted on to the committee at the meeting:
Daniel Bridge – Junior Team Manager.
Terry Maskell – Field Records Officer. This will split the records officers’ job in order to spread the workload.
Michaela Lake has very kindly agreed to continue as Target Records Officer for another year.

During our first executive committee meeting of the year we appointed Terry Maskell as Target Tournament Organiser with Daniel Bridge assisting as Tournament Secretary.
This leaves the following positions vacant:
Equipment Coordinator, Junior Representative, Public Relations Officer & Field Representative. The remaining Ordinary Member position is scheduled to be filled at the next committee meeting. If you are interested in any of these positions then please drop me an email via the contacts page.

Preparations are well in hand for the Sussex & SCAS Indoor Championships at K2, Crawley on 4th March. I wish you all good shooting.

The County Championship weekend will be held on 7th & 8th July. Record status has been granted for both days. Entry forms should be available soon.

I am very pleased to announce that after a lapse of a few years Crawley Archery Club have offered to host the County Field Championships. This will be held in conjunction with their Autumn Field Shoot. This is a two day shoot, but the County Championships will be shot over the Marked Round only, on Sunday 23rd September. We hope that this will encourage archers who may not normally consider shooting a field competition to take part.

As we approach the new season, I wish you all good shooting & look forward to seeing you on the line.

Terry Maskell.
