For the 2010 season, can you please review the 80 point penalty for compounds. I feel that the present 80 point reduction does not reasonably adjust both stlyes.
Looking at the Sussex 2008 Top Ten Gents scores in the York round for both bow styles, the average score for a compound archer is over 17 points higher per dozen arrows. Although a York is not completely comparable to an Albion, I do feel the present 9 point (80 total) is in need of review.

With regard to the 80 point penalty for compounds I agree it needs reviewing, When I shot recurve all I had to do was score over 900 and it was impossible for a compound to equal me. A better solution would be to take the handicap of the compound score then use the equivalent recurve score for that handicap added to the points difference between the compound handicap score and the actual compound score which should give a fair result for archers of all levels.

Having only shot in the Albion league for the first time this year, and being new to the sport I may be excused for being a little ignorant, But i thought the idea of the Albion league was for clubs to meet each other, friendships to be forged between clubs through friendly rivalry, But with the current rules of top 4 archers from each club team accepted it does exculde archers who shoot Longbow, Traditional, Barebow, AFB, these archers are mearly there to make up numbers knowing that with all the best intentions in the world the chances of getting a Longbow or other in the top 4 scores is unlikely, the odd barebow’er is good enough but they are far and few between. So instead of compounder’s having a penelty lets have a review on the rules and have classifications as in other tournaments were the top score from each classification is scored, with teams of multi skilled archers, were all have a chance to be included in the scoring regaurdless of there bow, and maybe more people will feel though their is a point in turning up to the competition rather than thinking they have no chance and only Tom, Dick Harry and Sally will be the scorers as usual.
