How the rankings are calculated

An archer’s ranking is based on the total score of their best three ‘major’ rounds during the last 12 months. ‘Major’ means a round that qualifies for Bowman or Junior Bowman classification for the archers gender and age-group. One of the three qualifying rounds may be shot at a club target day. The remaining two rounds must be shot at open tournaments.

The base rounds are York/Hereford/Bristol.
12 Dozen FITA (Adults) /Metric (Juniors) Round scores are converted to their equivalent Imperial round score by use of the GNAS handicap tables.
Junior Archers can submit scores for 9 Dozen Albion and Windsor Rounds, which will beĀ  converted similarly to equivalent Bristol scores.

Club target day scores

The submission of a score shot at a club target day must be supported by the score sheet, signed by the archer and a witness. The witness will normally be the scorer, but in any event must not be directly related to the archer (nor a partner or guardian).

Re-assessment of junior scores

The ranking of a junior archer are re-assessed when they attain the next age group. This is done by converting their best three scores, by use of the handicap tables, to the equivalent score for the appropriate round in their new age group.

Juniors are encouraged to shoot over age rounds prior to reaching a new age group.
