Well it’s taken a while to get sufficient numbers again, but the first draw of this year has been a result for the ladies. The prize winners are as follows:

It’s the start of the second year of the 200 Club and if you are a member, you may be wondering who the prize winners were for March.

Well, I have delayed the draw in order to get the number of members up to a level to make the prizes worthwhile. Various reminders have been sent out, but I know how easy it is to put things to one side and then forget them. It’s therefore taking a little longer to get the numbers back up, but I’m optimistic that a draw can be made soon.

With a bit more badgering, I think there could be even more members than last year, so the prize money will go up accordingly. If you are going to any local tournaments in the next few months, make sure you have a chequebook or some cash on you, because I might just tap you on the shoulder and try to get you to part with a few pounds.

In case you don’t know, the 200 Club was started as a means of building a fund, to ultimately get our own County Ground. Some say it’s an impossible task and the amount generated this way would never make it possible, but you have to start somewhere and you never know what the future has in store.

The first 12 months are now up and although not as many people joined the club as was hoped, £640 was paid out in prize money, £25 was returned to the fund and therefore £672 was raised towards future benefits for the County.
Anyone wishing to join or renew can download a form from the documents section and send in a cheque. You can also join as a club, rather than an individual, but the more the better.
