Sussex County Championships 2009

This year’s Sussex County Archery Association Championships will be held on Sunday 30th August 2009  at Falmer High School, Brighton. The tournament will be Record Status with Rose Awards.

The rounds will consist of

- York, Hereford & Bristol

- Burntwood York for Visually Impaired

Sussex County AA – Double FITA 70

The Sussex County Archery Association FITA will be held this year on Sunday 12th July 2009 at Falmer High School, Brighton.

The rounds will consist of a

- Double FITA 70 for Adults and Junior Gents Under 18

- Double FITA 60, 50 & 40 for Juniors – special rounds

- Burntwood VIIR 1 for Visually Impaired archers

Sussex County AA 9-Dozen Free Shoot

Tuesday, April 14th, 2009

A free 9-dozen tournament for Sussex archers only will be held on Saturday 11th July 2009 at Falmer High School, Brighton.

Archers, whether senior or junior, can shoot any 9-dozen round they like according to their own ability – St George, Albion, Windsor, Short Windsor or Junior Windsor.

An entry form will still need to be completed event though the event is free. Entries close 1st July 2009.

Sussex CAA Tournaments 2009 – Hold the Dates

There will be three SCAA Outdoor tournaments this year to be held at Falmer High School in Brighton. The Committee will be organising the preparatory work under the co-ordination of the Chairman as no overall organiser has been found. The helper Clubs will be asked to split their work over the Tournaments.

 

SUSSEX 9-Dozen Free Shoot – SATURDAY 11th JULY 2009

This will be open to SUSSEX ARCHERS only with no entry fees. A 9-dozen round will be shot of either St George, Albion or Windsors. Archers can shoot whichever round they like according to ability. This shoot will not be record status.

 

SUSSEX Double FITA 70 with Special Junior rounds – SUNDAY 12th July 2009

A change to the FITA shoot this year will see an Open FITA tournament of a double FITA 70 metre round. Juniors will be able to shoot special equivalent double FITA 60 metre, 50 metre and 40 metre rounds. This shoot will not be record status.

 

SUSSEX COUNTY CHAMPIONSHIPS – York/Hereford/Bristol/Burntwood - SUNDAY 30th AUGUST 2009

In order to retain Record status this Open shoot has been moved to an August date. The Burntwood FITA round has been moved to this tournament and will be a Burntwood York.

URGENT – Tournament Organizer Wanted

An Organizer is urgently required for this year’s Sussex Outdoor Championships which are held on the second weekend in July.

The role can be one of Co-ordinator which means getting other people to do the work or a hands-on Organizer or a mixture of the two.

The tasks can be grouped into:

Preparation – which can be done by the organizer or by organizing other people:

· applying for Rose Status

· booking the ground

· arranging a caterer

· appointing the judges

· arranging a Lady P/Lord P

· preparing the entry forms

· publicizing the event

· organizing the helper Clubs to provide people over the weekend

· preparing the target lists

· preparing the results sheets

· preparing the score sheets

On the weekend - organizing the helpers from the Clubs for:

  • the field layout (on the Friday beforehand)
  • the equipment transfer
  • the field working parties for target moving, face changing and arrow searching
  • the trophies and awards table
  • the signing for trophies
  • the raffle
  • ensuring judges are fed and watered
  • the results working party
  • the Rose Status Claims

After the weekend

  • Preparing and publishing the results
  • Writing a report for the Committee

New organizers are always given plenty of help from previous organizers and the Committee.

If you feel that you can do the job or would like to share the job with someone please let the Chairman or Secretary know.

IF NO ORGANIZER IS FOUND THERE WILL BE NO TOURNAMENT.
